Steelbands receive outstanding prize monies

Monday 11th June 2007 - All outstanding prize monies due to steelbands in respect to Panorama 2006 have now been paid. According to a press release from the Ministry of Culture the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Culture and the Performing Arts Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen, together with the Grenada Carnival Committee (GCC) and the Grenada Cultural Foundation (GCF) on Friday 8th June, 2007, met with the various steel bands and distributed outstanding monies owing to them for Carnival 2006.

In a short ceremony, the Minister expressed the apologies of the committee and assured the pan men that the committee and herself are working exceedingly hard to alleviate these problems and to make Carnival 2007 bigger and better.

Present were Chairman of the GCC, Mr. Thomas Mathew, Chairman of the GCF, Mr. Arthur Hosten and representatives from the various steel bands.
