Farewell Trev
Monday 8th December 2008 -- The members of Republic Bank Angel Harps extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late Trevor Emmanuel who passed away over the last weekend.
Trevor "Father" Emmanuel will be always remembered among the steelpan fraternity in Grenada as a pan player, pan arranger and pan teacher - a steelband stalwart.
As an arranger, Trevor won the Grenada panorama on two occasions. In 1969, Trev took the Carenage based steelband Panasonic, of which he was a founding member, to their first panorama competition and won - beating favourites and fellow Carenage neighbours Angel Harps. Then in 1980, he took Belmont South Stars to their first and only panorama championship.
As a cultural officer working in the Ministry of Culture, Trevor was also responsible for teaching steelpan in a number of Grenada's Schools.
An accomplished musician, Trevor will be most remembered among the members of Angel Harps for the work he did with the band in 1977. He was one of the main arrangers on the Harps' second musical album "As Prescribed" and was responsible for the arrangement of a number of pieces including Exodus, The Entertainer, Wagner's Field March among others.
Farewell Trev, and may your soul rest in peace.
