Republic Bank Angel Harps looking for three in a row

Monday 14th July 2008 -- While all the focus and speculation centers on whether Cable & Wireless Commancheros can win Panorama 2008 and become the first band to win three national panoramas in a row, no one seems to be taking notice of Republic Bank Angel Harps who can also do the treble this year.

Three times before, the Harps have tottered on the brink of a hattrick of panorama wins. In 1986 after winning in 1984 and 1985, in 1993 after winning in 1991 and 1992 and then for the third time in 2000 after winning two consecutive years in Tanteen in 1998 and 1999.

This year though, the Harps are entering a competition having won the last two installments, not the National Panorama competition - but the Rhythm Section Competition which will be the feature attraction at the 2008 Panorama Launch scheduled for this Sunday, July 20th at the Tanteen Netball Complex.

The Rhythm Section Competition, or the Battle of the Engine Rooms, was won by Angel Harps in 2006 and 2007 and they will be looking forward to again take the title this year for the third consecutive time. However, winning this competition will not be easy as many other bands also prepare for the competition and come to do only one thing - and that is to win.
