Three bands receive new sponsorship deals for Carnival 2008

August 17, 2008 -- The Grenada business community came to the assistance of three steelbands when they provided sponsorship to them commencing from the 2008 Carnival season.

The bands who are now associated with a new corporate identity are Grand Roy Pan Angels who were sponsored by Lewis Construction, Pan Lovers who were sponsored by Calabash Hotel and New Dimension who received sponsorship from the Coyaba Hotel.

For Lewis Construction Grand Roy Pan Angels, it was their first sponsorship arrangement after having been unsponsored since their formation in 2006.

Calabash Pan Lovers were previously sponsored by Capbank while Coyaba New Dimension were previously sponsored by Courts.

Two other bands received new sponsorship deals in 2007, namely River Road Pan Wizards who were sponsored by Suzuki (Steel's Auto Supplies) and Florida West Side Symphony who were sponsored by Digicel.

The other sponsored steelbands in Grenada are enjoying probably the longest sponsorship deals for steelbands in Grenada ever. They are Commancheros who have been sponsored by Cable and Wireless since 1991 and Angel Harps who have been sponsored by Republic Bank (formerly National Commercial Bank) since 1982.

All seven bands mentioned above participated in Panorama 2008 making this year's Panorama the first ever where all the participating bands were sponsored.
